We had a unfinished door in our living room that leads to the backyard.

It’s one of the first things you see as you walk in our living room, so we wanted to give it more of a statement and tie in with the rest of the black/white motif in the living area.

Here’s what we started with…

We got some black stain paint from Zinger (our favorite local hardware store) and masked off the edges of the door and windows carefully.

We then applied several thin coats and let it dry overnight.

The next morning we removed our masking tape, cleaned up a few smudges with a damp rag and Ta-da!
